How are families represented in the media?
Think of some of your typical cartoon families such as 'The Simpsons' and 'Family guy'. What steretypes are presented in these families? Are these characters a true reflection of parents and children and the roles they play in their families today?
hey everyone the 'typical' cartoon families such as family guy and the simpsons are sterotyped to be a dysfunctional family but can also be a traditional family (e.g. at meal times or going to church).these characters are not a true reflextion of most parents and children or the roles that they play in their families at the present time.
Hi Sarah, Thanks for your comment. Why are they dysfunctional families? What stereotypes are represented in the shows? Keep thinking, try to expand your response further.
Hi Kiera, A good start but I would like to know what stereotypes you think are represented in these shows eg. Marge as the homemaker. Keep trying to expand your response.
